Frequently Asked Questions
I’ll try to be brief. Kauai, the Garden Island, is the most beautiful of all of the Hawaiian Islands. Kauai has learned from the mistakes of Oahu and Maui and has limited the commercialization of the island, so that the Hawaiian experience you imagine will be pretty close to what you receive.
Hollywood has long recognized and showcased Kauai’s splendor in many, many movies (Six Days and Seven Nights, Jurassic Park, South Pacific, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Donovan’s Reef, Blue Hawaii, Honeymoon in Vegas, Outbreak, etc.) Television has shown the island in Fantasy Island, Thorn Birds, etc.
Kauai is an exotic American treasure!
The best month to visit Kauai is whenever you can! Actually, the temperature stays pretty much the same throughout the year. The ocean is most calm in and around the summer months and most turbulent in the winter months. March is probably the most rainy month. The whales swim, leap and spray, in front of the condo, between about November and April. Air fares tend to be the lowest in September, October and November.
Simply put, there is no better value. The condo offers a spectacular ocean view from every room, which is UNIQUE to relatively few condos on the island. It is appointed with tropical/Hawaiian decor and paintings of local artists. It is centrally located within the magnificent resort community of Princeville. It is meticulously maintained.
Kauai is a perfect place to honeymoon. Who hasn’t dreamed of being on a deserted tropical island, with the person they love? Kauai isn’t deserted, but it can seem like it. You can have as restful or active a honeymoon as you like. In Kauai, you will not be visiting another city, you will be immersing yourselves in one of the most beautiful tropical settings in the world.
“Beauty” is always in the eye of the beholder, but we have attended five (5) different luaus and never fail to attend one or more, each trip. For us, a luau allows us to experience the local culture in terms of food, dance and the less tangible “spirit of aloha”. In addition, it would be difficult to find a better food, drink and entertainment value. Plus, we look forward to meeting people from all over the world and hearing how they discovered Kauai and what they have enjoyed, while on the island.
A Kauai vacation can be as restful and serene or as active and as exhilarating as you want to make it. In the many years we’ve visited the island, we still haven’t experienced all that the island offers! Read “The Lonely Planet Kauai: The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook”, pickup a free copy of 101 Things To Do magazine at the Lihue airport or talk to others, who have been there. There is every kind of water activity (scuba, snorkeling, kayaking, wind surfing, surfing, swimming, etc.), horseback riding, golf, tennis, shopping, hiking, helicopter and boat tours, museums, botanical gardens, flea markets, farmer’s markets, art & jewelry stores, sight seeing tours, birding, lighthouses, photo opportunities, etc.

The humpback whales tend to migrate (jump, splash & frolick) in front of HollysKauaiCondo between November and April.
